About the Role

You'll join a small, tight-knit cross-functional team — product manager, designer, and engineers working closely together to build the next generation of our online ordering platform. We're moving from 900 individual Azure App Services to a modern multi-tenant architecture, and we need someone who can help us get there.

This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership. You'll work across the stack — React and Next.js on the frontend, modern dotnet on the backend, all running on Azure. You'll help design and build event-driven systems, set up cloud infrastructure, and ship features that thousands of restaurants depend on every day.

We're not looking for someone who wants perfectly scoped tickets handed to them. We want someone who digs into problems alongside the team, asks good questions, and helps us figure out what to build — not just how to build it.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

• Build and operate event-driven microservices that power online ordering for 1000+ restaurants
• Set up cloud infrastructure on Azure — container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring
• Work across frontend and backend, shipping features end-to-end
• Collaborate daily with product and design to solve real problems for real restaurants
• Help us make smart tradeoffs — knowing when to take shortcuts and when to invest in doing it right
• Ship early, learn fast, iterate

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You…

• Think about products, not just code — you care about why we're building something, not just how
• Prefer simple, robust solutions over clever abstractions
• Have built and operated event-driven systems (message queues, async workflows, the architectural patterns)
• Know your way around Azure infrastructure, or are ready to learn it fast
• Experience with Terraform or IaC
• Have worked in modern dotnet/C# or similar backend languages — bonus if you've also worked in other stacks
• Get energy from cross-functional collaboration rather than working in a silo
• Ship first, polish later — you'd rather get something in front of users than perfect it in isolation
• Are curious, humble, and open to new ideas

What Success Looks Like

First month: You're up to speed on our systems, you've shipped something real, and you're contributing to architectural decisions.

First quarter: You've taken ownership of a significant piece of our infrastructure or a major feature. The team feels like you've been here longer than you have.

First year: You've helped us land the multi-tenant migration, our systems are more robust than when you joined, and you've made everyone around you a little bit better.
