Solutions Architect (Product & Tech)
HELP SHAPE THE PLATFORM BEHIND THE FUTURE OF HOSPITALITY TECHNOLOGY!
At Munu, we build technology that simplifies restaurant and bar operations so teams can focus on delivering great guest experiences. Behind the scenes is a growing API-first platform of modules and data models that must work together — clearly, consistently, and at scale.
To support this, we’re hiring a Solutions Architect to protect and evolve the architectural foundation as we expand into more complex, AI-enabled territory. This is a strategic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on creating structure, defining standards, and enabling long-term scalability across product teams.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be the architectural glue between product managers, developers, and tech leadership – defining reusable solutions across APIs, data models, and workflows. You won’t ship code, but you'll shape how things are built: designing cross-product architecture, guiding implementation, and future-proofing the platform for AI-readiness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution & Platform Architecture
- Lead technical discovery with customers and partners (when relevant) to understand existing systems, workflows, and integration requirements.
- Design future-state architectures and solution design documents that are scalable, reusable, and aligned with Munu’s platform strategy.
- Own the design of cross-product solutions and integrations, ensuring internal consistency, scalability, and feasibility.
- Define and maintain shared technical definitions, logical entities, and cross-product data models used throughout the platform.
- Document and communicate architectural decisions clearly across product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to architecture review processes to validate and align major solution efforts or strategic product changes.
API-First Enablement & Governance
- Drive an API-first mindset across Product and Tech teams to ensure all product capabilities are accessible through consistent and scalable APIs.
- Collaborate with engineering to design and maintain a coherent API layer - both internal and external - that enables module interoperability and partner integration.
- Set and enforce standards for API structure, naming conventions, versioning, security, and usability.
- Ensure APIs reflect real-world implementation needs and follow Munu’s long-term platform strategy.
Shared Logical Entity Governance
- Own the technical data models, schemas, and field-level definitions of shared logical entities (e.g., Menu Items, Orders, Customers).
- Prevent divergence and duplication by ensuring consistent usage of these entities across teams and modules.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to align business meaning and with the CTO to uphold architecture standards.
- Facilitate and participate in data governance forums to validate schema changes and introduce new shared entities.
- Maintain a central glossary and schema documentation for use across the organization.
Implementation Oversight & Integration Support
- Collaborate with Product and Onboarding teams to ensure architectural designs are implemented correctly and consistently.
- Act as a cross-functional problem solver for platform-wide architectural issues or solution gaps.
- Troubleshoot integration and design-level blockers that arise during implementation.
- Ensure all delivered solutions are aligned with Munu’s architecture standards and API guidelines.
AI-Readiness & Future-Proofing
- Champion structured, semantically rich data models that support intelligent and automated capabilities in the future.
- Help ensure APIs and entities are designed to enable machine learning, AI integrations, and analytics through clear structure and metadata support.
- Act as a partner to AI/ML initiatives by ensuring technical feasibility and data clarity are in place.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Technical Enablement
- Serve as a bridge between product, engineering, and leadership to create shared understanding and architectural alignment.
- Empower teams through solution templates, technical documentation, API references, and shared standards.
- Foster consistency in how modules, features, and customer-facing capabilities are designed and integrated.
WHO YOU ARE
- 5+ years’ experience in solution architecture or platform design
- Deep knowledge of scalable APIs, data modeling, and technical system design
- Skilled at driving clarity and consistency across multiple product teams
- Motivated by long-term system health, not just delivery
- Strong communicator with a passion for structured thinking
- Curious about AI and excited to build future-ready platforms
Bonus Points
- Experience with OpenAPI/GraphQL
- Developer portal or SDK contributions
- Familiar with modular B2B platforms and technical governance
YOUR ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION
- Responsible for architectural standards, shared schemas, and API governance
- Consulted on product direction and implementation planning
- Informed on delivery timelines and platform decisions
